Medusa Truth Part 1 has just been released worldwide!

Head to your favorite site or service to give our new album a listen, or order the CD version from Secret Quarters Records, omitmusic.com, CD Baby or amazon.com.

Some information about this new album, taken from our press release:
Soon after the release of their debut album Omit started writing new material. The recording of this new material got started at the Secret Quarters Studios in the beginning of 2014 and, initially, resulted in a full length album with the title of Medusa Truth Part 1. Mixing and mastering of this album took place during the summer of the same year, and got completed in time to make Secret Quarters Records' autumn release window. Medusa Truth Part 1 was then announced to be released on November 26th, 2014.

As "Part 1" in the title suggests, the album is a part of a series of albums that will attempt to portray a sequence of events in the period of a person's life. Part 1 deals with a certain series of events, in three parts (or sub-parts or chapters, if you will) corresponding to the number of tracks on the album. The following album (or albums) will seek to musically describe other events in the life of the protagonist.

The title of the album was inspired by the following passage from The Mutiny of the Elsinore by Jack London: "The profoundest instinct in man is to war against the truth; that is, against the Real. He shuns facts from his infancy. His life is a perpetual evasion. Miracle, chimera and to-morrow keep him alive. He lives on fiction and myth. It is the Lie that makes him free. Animals alone are given the privilege of lifting the veil of Isis; men dare not. The animal, awake, has no fictional escape from the Real because he has no imagination. Man, awake, is compelled to seek a perpetual escape into Hope, Belief, Fable, Art, God, Socialism, Immortality, Alcohol, Love. From Medusa-Truth he makes an appeal to Maya-Lie."

A clip from the Insolence track

This week's clip has been taken from the longest track of the Repose album, clocking in at over 26 minutes in length. As is the case with all the tracks on this album, this one also contains sections with fairly large arrangements and orchestral passages. It's without doubt the largest mix of the album - not only because of it's length - but also due to its total number of 74 mono and stereo tracks.

As the track itself has a decent length, we decided to make this week's clip a bit long as well. You can listen to it by clicking right here.

And this week's new clip is...

... a section from the track called "Fatigue". This track appears as the second track on disc one of (the CD version of) the Repose album. The clip features, among other things, a violin lead nicely executed by Mira Ursic, the great vocals of Cecilie Langlie and the lyrics of the late Einar Fredriksen.

You can find this week's clip right here!

The Repose album is headed for a worldwide release on Secret Quarters on September 1, 2011.

Another week, another new clip

We're continuing to count down to the September 1 release of the "Repose" album with uploading some more stuff to the web. This week, we're making available a clip from the third track of the CD version - a track that has been named "Dissolve". We haven't uploaded any clips from this track previously, so this should be entirely new, even for those of you that have been following us since way back in the promo days.

The clip can be checked out right here.

New clip available!

With our "Repose" album approaching its September 1 release date, we try to shorten the wait with a new taste of what this album sounds like.

Many changes have been made to this album since we made the promotional version available last year. New strings were recorded under the supervision of Tom Simonsen and excellently performed by Rosamund Brown and Mira Ursic. The drums have been completely re-recorded, and new edits have been made in addition to the album getting a complete remix and remaster.

Today's clip has been taken from the first track of the second disc of the CD version of "Repose", a track entitled "Constriction". (Are we sort of confirming the existence of more than one version...?) You can check it out right here!

Redesigned website

As you may or may not have heard or read, there are currently some rumors floating around the web that we might finally get around to release the Repose album sometime soon.

We hereby confirm this rumor.

In celebration of this confirmation, we decided to update the design of our website ever so slightly. Hope you all like it and find it easier on the eyes than the previous design.

Getting back to the topic of the Repose album; we don't want to give you a release date just yet, as there are still some details that need to be worked out. Hang in there a little while longer, if you please.

A hint of real strings - Part 2

We're following up our previous post with yet another behind the scenes peek into the recording of the final version of our Repose album. This time, we're revealing a new part of the Insolence track that has some proper emphasis on the newly recorded strings!
